Zili Flatweave In Anatolia, flatwoven rugs of this kind, with a ribbed surface, are named ‘zili’ for their specific technique. The example offered here was woven in one of the villages in the southern Taurus Mountains; its seemingly archaic design of large offset hexagons, each enclosing a small stepped polygon, is captivating. – Good condition, damage to the kilim at the lower end.
Origin: South Anatolia, Taurus Mountains
Dimensions: 290 x 114 cm
