Avunya Prayer Rug This pretty, green-ground prayer rug with a dark red mihrab field containing a tree-of-life was made in the village of Avunya. Its wide, white-ground border shows a design of large, geometric, stylised cruciform floral clusters arranged diagonally that is characteristic of the provenance. Remains of the kilim finishes survive at both ends. Sides partially repaired and partially repiled. Various repiled areas in the field.
