OTTOMAN CARPETS IN THE XVI - XVII CENTURIES (16-17TH CENTURIES)

 


An Anatolian rug which was sold to the Berlin Museum by Julius-Harry Loytved in the early 20th century. The rug was destroyed during the Bombing of Berlin in 1945 (World War II). Inv. no: 946

Acquired in Konya in 1908. Sarre wrote an interesting article about it (1908). It is also knows as 'Hitler's carpet' (as it was called after 1933)
