Ushak, acquired from Peter Bausback, Mannheim in 1999, 107 x 94 cm, 17th century, Schürmann „Orientteppiche“ 1966 (Sign. I 22) This unique carpet was exhibited in 1926 in Chicago by the „Art Club of Chicago“ however erroneously described as Gördes in the catalog of A.U.Pope. Carpets with similar border have been made frequently in Gördes as Kis Gördes 200 years later (Wedding carpets). In addition, described in Schürmann Ulrich, ‘Oriental rugs’, 1966 labelled as white-ground Ushak. Bausback Collection
