Lot Description
A North-West Persian Gallery carpet
The raspberry-red field with a column of indigo and ivory octafoil medallions containing similar, smaller, red medallions, linked and flanked by shaped, sandy-yellow panels, the field scattered with various perching birds, the indigo spandrels with foliate panels and flower-heads, in an indigo border of bold polychrome palmettes and meandering vine, between aubergine and deep-red floral meander stripes, outer zigzag stripe, slight losses to each end, some localised areas of wear, one area of wear with a hole
