A VERNEH HORSE BLANKET
East Caucasus, circa 1900
The part cotton field with alternating brick-red and indigo bands of birds, boteh and floral motifs, the upper panels with other stylised geometric motifs, all within brick-red, ivory and medium blue geometric motif minor stripes, original kilim strips at both ends, multicoloured fringes to one end, old repairs on both upper panels, minor repiling in some motifs, selvages partially rebound
