Lot Description
A LARGE NORTH WEST PERSIAN SHRUB KELLEH
CIRCA 1820
Good pile throughout, corroded black and brown, localised touches of old moth damage, a few small scattered cobbled repairs, selvages partially rebound, localised small repairs to each end
24ft. x 7ft.7in. (730cm. x 231cm.)

Lot Notes
A similar kelleh with comparable colours but larger scale motifs is in the James D. Burns collection, Seattle, (James D. Burns, Antique Rugs of Kurdistan, London, 2002, fig.6, pp.46-47). A further example was sold in these Rooms, 1 May 2003, lot 171.
