The name of the carpet derives from the name of a village, Fyndyghan, which is located 70 kilometers far from the north-west of Baku City. Some carpet weavers call this carpet as Baky or Chayly.
The "gol"s- medallions that is situated in the center field is called "mangal", which means a brazier.
