This textile fragment from Azerbaijan, crafted from linen and silk in plain weave with intricate embroidery, showcases a disciplined lattice of palmette plant motifs framed by a rhythmic swastika-shaped border. Measuring 22 by 28 inches, it exemplifies the refined artistry of 18th century Azerbaijan textile traditions. Gifted anonymously in 1879.
