Antique Sanjabi tribal rug from Zagros Mountains

Knots: Gördes (Turkish, symmetrical)

Description: This is a rare and beautiful late 19th century Sanjabi Kurdish tribal rug from Zagros Mountains. An indigo field of polychrome hooked hexagons enclosed by an archaic X motif borders. The wool is soft and lustrous. Wonderfully vibrant natural colours.
