Afshar rug with alternately facing boteh motifs
Size: 129x185cm
Size (ft): 4'2"x6'0"
Area: 2.38 m2
Density: 170 000 knots per square meter, totally ~ over 400 000 knots

Colors: midnight blue, sky blue, Persian blue, variegated light green (sage), forest geren, madder red, natural ivory, natural dark brown, obergine, yellow, old purple/mauve.

: 100% natural dyes: madder, weld, dyer's woad, pomegranate skins, walnut husks

Materials: Handcarded and handspun wool for pile, ivory wool warps and ivory wool wefts (two shots). 11cm of flatwoven kilim ends at both sides.

Handwoven by two weavers in Azerbaijan, date embroidered on the kilim end 1436 (2015)

The dark blue field scattered with diagonal rows of alternately facing bold angular boteh motifs.
