Design: This type of flatweaves with camel motives are called Shadda. Sometimes mistakenly named as verneh (verni).  Shaddas were woven mainly in Karabagh Region, more specifically in Lambaran village of Barda district, Azerbaijan.  Jabrail, Qubadli, Lachin and Kalbajar were also other shadda weaving centers.

Antique shaddas were usually woven in two widths and sewn together along one edge.  Two colors, red and blue are used for warps.  The camel figures are woven in sumakh method (extra-weft wrapping ).
