Star Kazak Shikhli Rug, inspired by the Christie's antique Star Kazak Shikli rug

Size (ft): 4'11"x6'8"
Area: 3.075 m2
Density: 110 000 knots per square meter, totally ~ 330 000 knots

Colors: Persian blue, midnight blue, lawn green, pine green, aqua green, dark brown, madder red, ivory, obergine, yellow
Dyes: 100% natural dyes: madder, spurge / euphorbia, indigo, pomegranate skins, onion skins, walnut husks

Materials: Handcarded and handspun wool for pile, wool warps and red wool wefts
Handwoven in Azerbaijan, signed and dated (the tamga of Afshar tribe and 1436)
Weaver's name: Fatima

The ivory field with two large shaded brick-red hooked gabled medallions containing angular floral and geometric motifs and similar panels flanking a central similar indigo stellar panel, similar part-panels above and below, the two red medallions flanked on the diagonals by shaped light green hooked panels containing similar motifs, further minor green and light blue arrowhead shaped panels within the field, in a golden main border of linked to zig zag pattern minor borders.
