65-A very fine antique Dagestan prayer rug, East Caucasus
The ivory field with serrated lattice containing stylised polychrome floral sprays panelled keel-arch mihrab above with similar design, in light rust-red border of stylised open hooked panels between reciprocal, floral and barber-pole stripes, even wear, old repairs on the field also one or two on edges with few re-sawn very small cuts, replaced cord
