A KASIM USHAG RUG
South Caucasus, circa 1900
The rust-red field scattered with a variety of octagons containing hooked flowers and small rosettes around a column of three indented ivory lozenge medallions linked by hooked green leaves containing similar motifs around lozenge centrepieces, in a golden yellow check motif border between zigzag and minor barber-pole stripes, braided warps at each end, slightly corroded black, excellent pile
