EAST CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1870
The indigo field scattered with a wide variety of small motifs and flowerheads around an angular version of the Afshan design comprising rosette panels and split palmettes, in a brick-red border of linked concentric sea-green and brick-red pole-medallions containing floral motifs between meandering minor stripes, a short kilim strip with braided warpes at each end, corroded brown, slight wear on crease lines, minor repair to centre
