A CHICHI PRAYER RUG
EAST CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1880
The dusty blue field densely filled with angular floral and geometric motifs supporting a similar dusty blue mihrab arch filled with further geometric motifs, in a shaded celadon-green stylised flowerhead and angular leaf border between charcoal-black carnation spray stripes and narrow zigzag and lemon-yellow spiralling ribbon minor stripes, low even wear throughout, minute cobbled repairs in the outer stripe
