31 A large Konagkend rug, East Caucasus
The abrashed yellow field with fine lozenge lattice containing two large polychrome, hooked and floral linked medallions flanked by simialr half panels with occasional human and animal figure, in broad shaded tomato-red border of stylised checkered and floral sprays together with jewellery between reciprocal skittle-pattern, floral and S-motif stripes, outer barber-pole stripes, kilim ends, minute damage on the edge of one side, slightly corroded black on edges otherwise good pile. 290cm. x 163cm.(9ft.7in. x 5ft.4in.)
