Antique Kuba Perepedil small rug, "Herat Pirabadil" design, Southern Hillside Kuba Region, Devechi District, North East Azerbaijan.

Perepedil
Always of high quality, carpets of this kind are called “Herat Perepedil” on account of their Persian Herati design. According to Kerimov, they were made in the village of Perepedil south west of Kuba (now Divichi). The example offered here is one of the rare sample carpets from the Caucasus – pieces for demonstration to potential clients showing sections of field designs and secondary borders only, but drawn to the correct scale. – Very well preserved, including the kilim finishes.
