Areas of wear and corrosion, severe in a couple of places, selvages replaced, ends missing knots but secured

Lot Notes
This very elegant runner has medallions that relate it to a group of Kurdish rugs a number of which bear dates from the mid-nineteenth century. One from the James D. Burns Collection was sold in these Rooms, 18 October 2001, lot 281; the note to that lot gives references to five further related examples.
