A SHIRVAN RUG
East Caucasus, circa 1890
The shaded medium blue field scattered with flowerheads around a column of stepped indigo panels and stepped rust-red arrowhead panels above and below containing a rosette centrepiece issuing floral sprays, in a golden yellow hooked stylised vine border between linked floral, hooked vine, barber-pole and S-motif stripes, slight wear and minute repairs
