A perfect example of an antique Kuba Shahnazarli - Karagashli rug, late 19th century, m. 1,96 x 1,16 - 6’5” x 3’10”, Azerbaijan

Three lozenges stand out on the dark blue field. At their ends a radial ornament can be seen that recalls old Egyptian and Persian royal insignia.

The border is elegant and dominated by a central band decorated with an “Eagle beaks” motif. (Luciano Coen Antique Rugs and Tapestries)
