A SOUMAC CARPET
EAST CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1890
The shaded rust-red field scattered with polychrome angular palmettes, flowerheads and minor geometric motifs around a central column of four indigo cusped lozenge medallions centred by pale pink octagons containing hooked lozenges and minor motifs, in a chocolate-brown zigzag and serrated motif border between ivory hooked vine stripes, mill-pattern minor stripes and a running-dog outer stripe, minute repairs, overall good condition
