Plate 444: An attractive example with a somewhat misunderstood rendering of the Seichur border.

The field contains a wide polychromy, including green, three shades of blue, red, red-brown, dark pink, pink, orange, light yellow and white. Few other Caucasian rugs can match the visual splendour, the almost Byzantine magnificence of the best Kazaks. This piece, however, which, unlike most Kazaks, has a composition of an endless repeat, is one of the few that can. The greatest example of its type I have seen. Second half of the19th century. 185 x 125 cm

404. Zeijwa Antico
Bordo interno verde bottiglia. Annodatura molto fine, disegno nitido e pelo brillante e vellutato. 185 x 125 cm
