This circa 1870 Caucasian Kuba or Shirvan rug measures 3’8” X 4’10”. It has an ivory field with three Leshgi stars, one blue with a red one at each end. The field is covered with stars, latch hook medallions, small flower heads and curry combs. The reciprocal borders are light blue and red brown with a flower head motif. The major border is ivory with a crab design. The rug is very bold, crisp and well drawn. The ends and sides are complete. It has good pile. There is slight erosion in the brown commiserate with its age. Antique Oriental Rugs
