Antique Kuba rug, Southern Hillside Kuba Region, Azerbaijan. Second half 19th century

Other Info: NE Caucasus. 2x7 Leshgi Star design. Prov. Pharmacist Mr Sigurd Haanshus (born 1853) who ran the Pharmacy "Hjorten" in Kristiania (now Oslo, Norway). Acc. to tradition acquired in the 1870?s. After his death to his sister Olga Haanshus by descent to her son Carl Andreas Furst (dead 1981) to his son Carl Furst, Vastervik thereafter.Condition: Both end guard stripes are rewoven. A few repiled areas esp. towards the top end. Now good condition. Original selvedges, organic dyes.
