33-An antique Moghan kelleh, South-East Caucasus
The shaded rust-red field with pale yellow and light blue lage hooked medallions, each containing various polychrome hooked and serrated panels enclosing central octagon with stylised Memling gul, flanked by similar guls at each side and hooked reciprocal panel spandrels at each end, in broad border of multicoloured hooked octagons between charcoal-black open rosette stripes, outer barber-pole and plain stripes, slight even wear, slightly corroded black
