Antique Shirvan Marasali Kabistan prayer rug / namazlyg, Shirvan Region, Azerbaijan. Enza Milanesi's "The Carpet"


Private collection. The 19th-century Caucasian style also reinterpreted the prayer rug, creating a special version of it in which the mihrab is recognized only by the mere profile of the geometric arch, arranged over a uniform floral grid that extends across the whole field of the carpet.
