Shirvan The midnight blue field of this finely woven carpet from the Shirvan region is almost completely filled by a red shield shape, notched in several places and outlined in a wide, white contour. It contains five box shapes, each decorated with a cross, and stylised trees. Commonly used in the East Caucasus, this design is called "orduch". Small repiled areas, restored selvedges, good overall condition.
