Antique Haji Jalili Tabriz rug, Azerbaijan, NW Iran, 9 x 11'4"

One of the very earliest carpets we have seen in the style attributed to the luminary, Hadji Jallili of Tabriz. The viewer is struck by his masterful restraint of both color and design, exquisitely enhanced by a deep patina at nearly 200 years of age.
