Antique Tabriz Hadji Jalili rug, "Garden of Paradise", Azerbaijan, NW Iran, 9'3" x 11'9"

This is a superlative rendition of the most esteemed and seldom-found design of the renowned Hadji Jallili workshop. Fluidity of line and delicacy of hue generate an ambiance of extraordinary harmony and grace. Numerous precisely rendered botanical forms, including wisteria, almond blossoms, peonies and pears flourish, framed by no less than eighteen impeccably woven borders. The unique and superlative carpets from this workshop are exceedingly rare, but beloved by the creators of this collection, allowing us to offer a number of sterling examples. (Featured in our Artistic Visions, Vol. 2 brochure, p.12.)
