Antique Tabriz Hadji Jalili carpet, Azerbaijan, NW Iran, 4'5 x 5'8"

Opulent formal drawing and a regal palette impart tremendous elegance in this stunning area size piece from the acclaimed carpet designer, Hadji Jallili. Profoundly artful expression abounds throughout its complex design. Constant abrash, the art of purposeful color variation, is used to great heights, creating a shimmering, three-dimensional effect. Note the regal emerald green of the inner medallion and the movement of the field tone from soft rust at the lower end to deep rose at the top.
