Design:
Kilseli or as known with its common name "Sewan" Kazak, with stylized animals and bold reciprocal arrow head guards, and with the medallion surronded by latch-hooks, commonly called "running dogs". The outer border is close in design to those found on some Caucasian kilims. The straight-sided, octagon-ended medallion is not as commonly encountered as the wing sided medallion.  The hooked edged motif within the central small white ground medallion is, according to L. Kerimov, called "wedding table". This suggests that rugs of this design were once woven for a specific festive occasion, i.e. wedding.
